MALAYSIAN Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) strongly condemns the military aggression launched by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has escalated into one of the most dangerous geopolitical crises in recent decades and now unfolds during the sacred month of Ramadan.

Reports confirm that coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel targeted multiple locations across Iran, including strategic facilities and leadership compounds, triggering retaliatory actions across the region and raising fears of wider war.

This escalation has already spread instability across West Asia, with missile exchanges, regional airspace disruptions, and emergency responses across several countries hosting foreign military bases.

The timing of this aggression during Ramadan carries profound symbolic and emotional consequences for Muslims worldwide. Ramadan is a month of reflection, mercy, and unity. Launching large scale military operations during this sacred period will inevitably be perceived as a grave provocation against Muslim dignity and collective conscience.

MAPIM stresses that this conflict cannot be viewed in isolation.

It is unfolding within a broader regional context that includes:

* The ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza
* Continued violations of Palestinian rights
* Escalating geopolitical confrontation in West Asia
* Intensifying polarization between global power blocs

This war therefore risks expanding into a confrontation with consequences far beyond Iran, potentially affecting global energy routes, economic stability, and international security.

MAPIM reminds the Muslim world that Ramadan is also the month of Battle of Badr, a historic moment when faith, unity, discipline, and moral conviction enabled a smaller force to overcome overwhelming odds.

The spirit of Badr is not about war.

It is about:
* Moral courage in the face of injustice
* Unity of the Ummah across divisions
* Reliance upon Allah during hardship
* Commitment to justice despite intimidation
Today the Ummah must revive these principles.

MAPIM calls upon Muslims worldwide to respond with wisdom, unity, and responsibility:

  • Strengthen unity across sectarian and political divisions
    ● Intensify prayers, supplication, and spiritual solidarity during Ramadan
    ● Support peaceful advocacy against aggression and injustice
    ● Promote humanitarian awareness and protection of civilian lives
    ● Encourage diplomatic solutions and de escalation

MAPIM also calls upon governments, international organizations, and global leaders to act urgently to prevent further escalation that could endanger millions of lives.

War during Ramadan is not merely a geopolitical event.

It is a test of humanity’s moral conscience.

MAPIM reaffirms that justice, dignity, and peace must prevail over aggression and domination.

The Ummah must stand firm in faith, unity, and moral clarity.

“Victory does not come from numbers, but from faith, discipline, and righteousness.”
